Concept

CONCEPT

Descent’s concept comes from a personal story. As someone who spent years fearing dark ocean waters, marine life, and the unknown deep, my decision to complete an Advanced Open Water Diver certification was a personal process of confronting those exact anxieties.

My fear didn’t disappear, but learning to manage the panic turned into a satisfying challenge, and I actually found myself enjoying the experience.

The simulation lets the player step into a diving cage to practice handling their fear in a safe environment. It guides them on how to control their breathing, ear pressure and heart rate, which are critical factors while diving. In the simulation, the player explores marine encounters, sunken wrecks, and panic triggers, showing how listening to and controlling our own body can help us coexist with fear rather than letting it control us.
